Humanism is the practice wherein we can learn, be, and do care for each other, without which we cannot individually thrive. This workshop bridges the philosophies of Black liberation, Mahayana Buddhism, and humanism, so we can explore how these interconnected belief systems can be applied to create a more just and equitable world.
Facilitated by: Rev. Dr. Ed O’Malley
In one of the oldest forms of Buddhism, Bon Buddhism, formerly "secret" teachings are being offered to Westerners, for several reasons. Bon Buddhist teachers who have come to the West have tried to reach us with teachings more relevant to our lifestyles while retaining the core spiritual essence.
This workshop will explore a specific set of teachings, Dream & Sleep Yoga, that require sustained awareness and spiritual practices, during each of a human's states of being—sleeping, dreaming and waking—to raise your level of awareness and connection to the Divine
Facilitated by: Rev. Nathan Demay
Instead of learning about how God is all powerful, judgmental, and emotionally broken, this workshop will explore the idea that God is the Most Loving; that all of the Universe, including God and humanity, are in profound interconnected relationship; and how these ideas informs our living in positive ways.
This workshop is a radical re-understanding of our relationship to the Divine. It helps us to move from a place of passivity to activity. We become active partners with the Divine in healing, helping, fighting oppression, caring for the Natural world, etc. It moves us away from “serfs” under an Imperial God, to co-collaborators.
Facilitated by: Rosemerry Wahtolla Trommer
One of the greatest gifts of poetry is it allows us to explore our humanness with compassion and playfulness, even when the subjects challenge us. Psychologist Michael Brant DeMaria identifies four topics we often shy from meeting openly—love, death, desire and madness—and this four-week workshop series, we’ll circle each of them through reading and writing poetry.
Curiosity will be our guide. How might exploring raw, vulnerable states open us to depth, startle us with wonder, and invite a more profound relationship with the sacred? In each session, we’ll read poems, write poems of our own, discuss process, and have a chance to share the writing we do together—or not. All levels of writing are welcome.
Facilitated by: Trebbe Johnson

This workshop will encourage participants to create safe, inclusive ways of meeting this immense force and hopefully inspiring countless others in the near and distant future.

In actuality it is how we are living in relationship with our self, family or identify group(s) and community - it is a sustainable path to social transformation. Together, we will use historical texts and group discussion to deepen our appreciation for how each of us can grow spiritually, while considering ways to serve the greater/global community.

Facilitated by: Lyena Strelkoff
If the Earth is to survive, humans must be compelled to save it. That compulsion arises less from moral or ethical underpinnings than it does from having a genuine, vital, and reciprocal relationship with the Earth. We must shift out of an extractive mindset and toward a consciousness of interdependence, which is a natural result of deepening relationship. This workshop is designed to foster that relationship. When the Earth becomes our teacher, our guide, when our daily lives are interwoven with our natural environment, our care and commitment to the Earth rises profoundly. The workshop promotes that bond for the benefit of us and the Earth.
Facilitated by: Rev. Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee and David Wallace
Wholeness is not a striving for perfection; it is learning to hold complexity with radical hospitality. We are living in a time of fragmentation. Overwhelm is a natural response to fear and uncertainty. Rather than resist what is arising in us, in this workshop, we will be invited to a radical hospitality towards it all.
Facilitated by: Rev. Nathan Brisby

As spiritual people, we should not avoid the political realities that harm us and those we love. We can no longer use our spirituality to numb ourselves from feeling the real pain of oppression, nor can we use our spirituality to justify turning away from our responsibility to one another. Each of us is valuable and necessary to co-create the world we want, and each of us may have a different role to play. The question then becomes: what is mine to do?
Facilitated by: Rev. Simon Ruth de Voil and David Wallace

In this experiential workshop with guides Simon de Voil and David Wallace, you will discover and engage fresh translations of the Book of Psalms through music, song, teaching, reflective writing, and contemplative listening, with opportunities for sharing and for spiritual companionship.
